Sacurrity?

((Title in reference to this, natch))

So you may have seen on el blog de mi hermana, that our lovely mumsy allowed us to do a "Look for Less" challenge for part of our Christmas gifts! It was super fun but intense as the mall was PACKED with people (ahem, tourists)*.

*Note, we usually do not frequent said mall with las muchas turistas. On this occasion, we wanted to hit it up for H&M (AKA: style on a budget) and arohpaS (to purchase a gift card) purposes.

So enter my favorite store, the paG {backwards, please}. Sister and I were both able to complete the L4L challenge at said store, but success was bittersweet.

SWEET: I got 2 outfits for $60.00 (WOOOOO) {Cardy, Long-sleeve T, skirt, and Cords}

BITTER: paG left security tags on my skirt AND pants. Naturally I realized this one item at a time, so I had to go the paG TWICE to have the security tags removed with that handy lil machine.

And then we went to wrap my cousin's Christmas present and realized the paG had struck again. Secur tag.
BLAST!

I gag

In which I discuss my growing pet peeve of a certain social-networking site and "relationships"...
(I find it trés difficult to forgo the DaneCook-approved phrase in lieu of "ships"...but I digress).

I will now proceed to call out guilty parties on two counts:

Example 1: OGD- Obsessive Gushing Disorder.
Now that the aforementioned site allows "tagged" statuses (stati? statusi?), making others vomit while you profess your undying love for your boyfriend of 18 days is as easy as inserting an emoticon of the same high caliber. Yippee. Please, be a dear and try to abstain from updating your status nine times a day to inform 735 people that you are "heading to lunch with the bestest boy in the world! Happy 3 weeks, baby".

Example 2: Commentus Awkwardious
When you or someone you know enters into or ends a relationship, please refrain from adding inappropriate (and at times, downright rude) comments to the status that alerts others of the break-up or make-up. Call me old fashioned but is it not rude to say to one, Candy Cane (upon being dumped by Jack Frost), "Love you CC! Boys suck! Let's go out tonight and get crazzzzzyyy". Noooootttt goooooood, my friends, not good.

More books

Whenever I leave the library, I always feel like I got all of this great stuff for free!
-My sister

(and she's right!)

I love the library...well, in truth I love the idea of the library, not the one that I frequent. The branch closest to my house is slightly sketchy...sometimes people just wander in off of the streets to use the free Internet. I also feel that the library is super germy (and we know how I feel about germs). Needless to say, I make it a point to never go to the library alone or without hand sanitizer. But of course, the best part of the library would have to be the books. Today I found plenty of books to add to my [growing] Winter Break reading list!

I also hit the jackpot at Bar*nes and No*ble today. I still had some money left on a B&N gift card I received for my birthday, so I decided to add a book to the collection. After a lot of careful research (Yes, research. I actually perused the B&N website for an hour looking at book summaries and reviews) I landed on what I think will be an excellent read!

AND while I was on the B&N website, I discovered an awesome new service! If you find an item online that you would like to purchase in-store, you can actually click on the "Pick It Up" link and someone in the store will pull the item off of its shelf within the hour and hold it for up to 3 days! How neat is that?!? Perfect for easy holiday shopping :)

Wonderful Christmastime

(I just love Macca, don't you??)

I'm finally done with this semester and I cam quite pleased with myself. Not to be that person, but somehow I pulled off straight A's for the {hardest} semester! Perfect way to start of Christmas break :) Yesterday I bought a darling hat at Gap as a congratulatory treat haha.

This break I plan to read, read, and read some more. Here's what's on my reading list so far.

(again...haha)

What's on your winter break reading list? I'm always up for new suggestions :)

Just Because

Because it's officially December,

...and I just ate a cookie for breakfast (--->need to go grocery shopping)
...and I have finals coming up (--->need to study)
...and I'm allergic to the world or something (--->need to be healthy)
...and I left all my flashcards at home (--->need to not fail at studying)
...and I'm living out of a suitcase because I refuse to unpack, only to repack in a week

...I'll see you in 10 days, Blogville.
Wish me luck on my exams!
(And good luck to my fellow stud-iers!)
